Become the cup!

Not everyone craves stability, of course. There are people who just do not roll with any concept so mundane. Instead, they feed off of the general chaos of their surroundings, and often contribute to the collective instability sometimes without awareness – at other times some may act complicit – these are dangerous people but they may well be needed.
Some people out these relish the unknown and will destroy and create without what we might refer to as due consideration. We are these people just as we are the people that despair of these people.
Are you sitting comfortably? You are no doubt sat at some desk somewhere, maybe at work, maybe at home. Maybe, and I would think there’s a good chance of this, maybe there’s a cup of tea or coffee on that desk, or a glass of juice, or a half finished bottle of cold beer. How far from the edge of the surface is that would you say? Now then, couldn’t you move that closer to the edge? Closer still. Bit further now. That’s nearly enough; have one fraction stick out over the abyss –that’s not going to fall is it? Of course it might still fall, later on maybe, when you forget about it for a split second, when your leg gets heavy and you stretch and knock the desk or whatever and the glass/mug/bottle topples over the edge.
At that point will you be able to catch it?
Just imagine now, project yourself forward to that point. Visualise it falling when you are busy distracted by some banal webpage – see your hand shoot out and catch it just after it has fallen. You spill only a drop at most. How do you feel now? Good? Relief? Did your heart rate increase for a brief second?
Maybe that’s what will happen or maybe it will fall and smash. Maybe it will just stay there. Maybe you never moved it at all. Maybe you did move it and it never left your field of concentration – it became your whole world for these few minutes.
